The Many Nicknames of Sam

I was trying to think of all the names Sam has had in his short life. This will probably be updated as I remember more.

Ok, so Mandy thought we needed some explanation on some of these.

Samsonite
Samson
SammySlam
Samtastic
Cluckers - Sam clucks his tongue quite a bit. And thinks its awesome if you do it back.
Clucky
Clicky
Farty McGee
Grapefruit Head - In his 3 month pictures his head looked like a grapefruit.
Monkey - He would (and still does) cling to us like a little monkey.
Boo
Booy
Screechy
Breathy - He used to do this weird breathy noise.

We Have the Best Baby Ever

Today was a good day for Samsonite. A couple of friends of ours took him for the day and fed him all kinds of goodies. Then he came home, slept hard for a couple of hours, and then we took him to the bowling.

Sam is completely and totally in love with the bowling alley. Once he locks onto watching an alley you can't get his attention off of it. Even if I, his beloved father, place my head between him and the alley it does no good. We just play reverse peek-a-boo. After the amazing bowling alley we went to Sir Pizza where Sam charmed everyone and gorged himself on french fries and Diet Pepsi.

So, anyway, here's a picture of Sam pulling everything out of the diaper bag. Note he's still in his PJs so this was just a warm up before breakfast for the day.

Rough Day

It was a rough day for Sam. He managed to pull his toy over on top of himself, which scared him, he was sick due to the flu shot he received, and then decided to skip his morning nap, making him crankier than usual.

On the other hand, he was happy a lot of the day, so it was a rough one, but not terrible for Sam.

So anyway, have a photo of Sam, that's the toy he pulled over on himself.

Sam Got Shot

I took Sam in to get the second half of his flu shot. He's getting tougher and tougher. This time he pouted for about 15 seconds, cried for about 10 and was back to happy Sam quickly. It was kind of amazing.

Today was a very long day at church. Sam wanted to play with the three year old and he wouldn't let him. He wanted to play with the one year old but he cried and cried. He would do a shrill ...

Today was a very long day at church. Sam wanted to play with the three year old and he wouldn't let him. He wanted to play with the one year old but he cried and cried. He would do a shrill cry, then Sam would start three seconds later.

I could not calm him down. He was a slobbery mess. The only way I could get him to stop was whispering "Itsy Bitsy Spider" over and over again in his ear.

It was a long hour, and day.

Sam is a nut

To put things in perspective, our entire family (except Sam) has been sick since the weekend. As a result we've had lots of dishes piling up. So today, I decided to get them under control. Sam decided to get out of his normal routine, wake up early, take his nap early, and only sleep for an hour or so. The end result is that I had Sam playing underfoot while washing dishes. I get lost in washing dishes when I hear splashing.

It takes a second to sink in.

My mind catches up to reality and realizes there's only one place for Sam to splash, and that's the toilet. So I run in there and he looks up at me, happy to be splashing away like its his bath. Apparently the only thing missing was a rubber ducky.

The hand washing we went through next was a bit rough, as the steel wool does tend to chafe, but he was comforted by the site of his dad's look of concern which he enjoyed looking on via the mirror.
